Food, music, clowns and magic are on tap this Saturday at the Seattle Police Department’s annual Picnic at the North Precinct.

The free event, hosted by the Seattle Police Foundation, will also feature an opportunity to learn about Seattle Police specialty units including K-9, mounted bomb squad and SWAT team. The event runs from 1-4 p.m.

The first Picnic at the Precinct was held in September 2004 at the East Precinct. Since then, the program has grown to include all five precincts.

For more information, call 206-684-0373. The North Precinct is at 10049 College Way N., just north and across the street from North Seattle Community College.

Want to know more about what’s happening in the North Precinct (pdf), which includes Maple Leaf and all of Seattle north of the ship canal and Montlake Cut? Read the precinct’s blog, or subscribe to its RSS feed.
