If you’re still feeling the luck o’ the Irish, you might want to gather the family for tonight’s Pot o’ Gold event from 7-8:30 at the Northgate Community Center, 10510 Fifth Ave. N.E. Kids will make a leprechaun catcher, then search for gold at the arts and crafts program, which costs $5 per family. Don’t forget to wear green!

Earlier today, the Seattle Athletic Club, 333 N.E. 97th St., is offering a Kid’s Paint ‘N’ Play event since Seattle Public Schools are out for the day. The club’s Kid’s Court has planned an afternoon of fun-filled activities that include art projects, games, snacks and swim time with the staff from 1-5 p.m. Cost is $38 plus tax for members (sibling discount is $25 plus tax), or $55 plus tax for nonmembers. For more information, contact Roni Olson at rolson@sacng.com.

The weekend is also packed with area performances, from the student-performed “Peter Pan The Musical” at Shoreline Community College to the opening weekend of “Dying City” at Seattle Public Theatre at the Bathhouse at Green Lake. Middle school students of Christ the King Catholic School in Broadview are staging the “Peter Pan” production, which also features a live band and characters that really “fly,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, as well as matinee performances at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost $12.

Dying City,” which is making its Northwest premiere this weekend, is a psychological drama about the fallout of war. It shows tonight and Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Prices range from $15 to $27 and are available online or at the theater box office, located 7312 W. Green Lake Drive N.

Meanwhile, “The Secret Life of Bugs,” which we wrote about earlier in the month, finishes its run at Northwest Puppet Center with performances at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

If your idea of a show is live music, singer-songwriter Alana Raye will perform acoustic/indie/pop today and Saturday at 7 p.m. at Jewel Box Cafe.

And before you plan an outing at Green Lake this weekend, expect crowds Saturday for the 48th annual Green Lake Spring Regatta. Nearly 1,000 participants in more than 30 teams from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia will compete from 7:20 a.m. to 5 p.m., with races starting every 10 minutes. For more information, call the Green Lake Small Craft Center at 684-4074.

One more event from our partner, Magnolia Voice, for all your bargain hunters out there: The Magnolia Cooperative Preschool is holding a big toy and clothing sale from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at United Church of Christ, 3555 W. McGraw.
