What’s open/closed on President’s Day

Well, we all know Northgate Mall is open and hoping you’ll shop away President’s Day weekend, but come Monday, don’t expect the liquor store or the post office to be open.

Because of the holiday, all government offices will be closed Monday, including the municipal and King County courts, as will be all branches of the Seattle Public Library.

But the Washington State Ferries will be on their regular schedule, and buses are mostly on regular schedules except for limited runs to the University of Washington. However, all Metro bus riders get to celebrate the holiday by paying Sunday fares, and drivers also get park for free, as meters won’t be enforced.

And if Monday is your garbage pickup day, get those cans out there because Seattle Public Utilities’ garbage pickup is on its regular schedule.

Even if the kids won’t be in school Monday, they still can learn because the Woodland Park Zoo is open regular hours, as are the Museum of Flight and the Museum of History and Industry.

However, the Seattle Art Museum and the Seattle Asian Art Museum will be closed.
