Booze 1, bikinis 0 at the old Italian Spaghetti House

October 23rd, 2012 by Mike

Looks like David Miller of the Maple Leaf Community Council called it right: The Old Italian Spaghetti House & Pizzeria is becoming Bobs’ Lake City Liquors.

On the other hand, the bikini barista stand there – Headrush Coffee – has disappeared from the parking lot at 9824 Lake City Way N.E.

More information about the liquor store is available on its Facebook page. They are shooting for an early November opening.

Liquor store in place of Italian Spaghetti House?

September 19th, 2012 by master

For a year we’ve been trying to figure out what’s happening with the Italian Spaghetti House, just across from Maple Leaf at 9824 Lake City Way N.E.

David Miller, president of the Maple Leaf Community Council Executive Board, shares this tidbit in an email to the Maple Leaf Business Subcommittee (which you can sign up for here):

Some of you may have noticed the remodeling going on at the site of the former Italian Spaghetti House restaurant. According to Seattle Department of Planning and Development, indications are a liquor store will be going in at this location. We’ve notified Wedgwood (the site is in their neighborhood boundaries). We’d appreciate your thoughts on this. We’re looking into the code, but we doubt there is anything we could do about this even if the neighborhood reached consensus something needed to be done…

What are your thoughts on a liquor store replacing the Italian Spaghetti House?

What's happening with the Italian Spaghetti House?

September 15th, 2011 by Mike

We must have heard now from a half-dozen or more folks who all have a question similar to Susan’s:

“”Italian Spaghetti House on Lake City Way has a big fence around it. Anyone know what is up?”

We’ve looked around, and still don’t know the answer. But we’re betting one of our readers does.

The Italian Spaghetti House & Pizzeria closed earlier this year after 55 years in the same location, 9824 Lake City Way N.E. The owner told The Seattle Times she hoped to reopen, but it’s never happened.

There’s no permit activity for the address visible on the city’s website, and the property doesn’t appear to be actively for sale or lease.

Who can help figure this out?
