Return of Maple Leaf’s Parade of Costumes! And other Halloween news

The parade will start at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, at Rick’s Chevron on the corner of Fifth Avenue Northeast and Northeast 85th Street, and ending at Maple Leaf Park.

Join in the whole route or part of the route (entire route is about 1-1/4 mile and will hopefully take about an hour).

Our parade is part of a the Scaring Away Hunger Donation Drive for North Helpline, which provides emergency services & a food bank in Lake City. There will be donations boxes for non-perishable food donations at the beginning and end of the parade.

If you live along the route and want to hand out treats, we ask you bring any goodies to the sidewalk so trick-or-treating can keep moving along the route. If you don’t live along the route and would like to hand out treats, meet us at the end of the parade at the park. How many participants? Plan on 250, although the weather will no doubt affect that number.

In addition, the Maple Leaf Community Garden is hosting two Halloween events.
