Sarah emails this afternoon:

“Just wanted to let fellow Maple Leafers know that someone attempted to break into our across-the-street neighbors’ house on Friday at about 6:30 p.m., using a crowbar on a ground floor window.

And on Nextdoor Northgate/Maple Leaf Sari wrote:

“Just wanted to let everyone know that at 15th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 89th Street,an alert neighbor surprised an attempted break-in yesterday at his next door neighbor’s home (dark and empty looking). It was only about 6:30, so still light out. The would-be burglar had a crowbar and was attempting to get in through a window.

“When the neighbor yelled at the guy he took off–no luck finding him. Good fortune and some chutzpah–much appreciated. The policeman we spoke to later on, who was able to come by an hour later to conduct the report, said that neighbors keeping an eye on things for one another is the best first line of defense.”

The map shows about 20 home and commercial burglaries reported to Seattle Police here since the beginning of August.

  1. See, calling the Seattle police helped. They really do care, somewhat, in a Ill get around to you later kind of way. No wonder people are sick of the police.
