A short-haired, black, male cat, with one fang, no collar, a friendly demeanor and a loud meow has been hanging around our home on 14th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 113th Street. He goes away for a few weeks, but then comes back, much to the dismay of our elder kitties. Last night’s rain brought him back yowling on our deck all night. (He was covered and had something to lay on.)

She’s hoping somebody will recognize this cat and claim him. Otherwise, she says, they will try and get him to a vet to see if he’s chipped.

  1. Okay I wasn’t sure till I checked the guy when I saw him this morning. His fang is broken not missing. I have been tempted to take him in for nuetering and a check over but he appeared to be getting some sort of food/shelter somewhere as he is not always interested in the food I bring out for him. Now maybe I will see about taking him in to get neutered and the tooth taken care of. He definitely is a sweetie just can’t let him in the house as he likes to mark his territory.

  2. I can’t keep a collar on my cat. Rather than pelleting a cat with a pellet gun, I recommend asking the neighbors first and if it is truly feral, getting a humane trap from the humane society. They will take the cat and scan it for microchips.

  3. Could be a feral cat, owned by no one. We had one in our neighborhood, caterwauling all night.

My neighbor resolved the issue using a pellet gun. Found the carcass in my backyard.

I can’t condone that, but we are sleeping thru the night without interruption. Spay or neuter your cat. Keep it on your property, problem solved.

  4. Yep, that’s him and I think that’s the house. He spends time in a house with smokers. Might get a collar and put a note on it asking where he belongs next time I see him. He was trying to get into my coop a few days ago..

  5. No, not fixed.
The brown house on the corner lot with all the cars around it? Corner of 113th and 14th?
That would probably mean he isn’t lost, just shopping for a new home. Great.
Meanwhile, camping outside our cat door preventing my 21 year old cat from getting out and then yowling all night outside my bedroom.
I’ll go check with that house.

  6. Hey Laurel. He visits us too. Have found him in the house and garage. Think he lives at the brown house on the corner. Not fixed, right?
